A devoted teacher to this site from this day forward! I would count it a special favor if this is possible. I have one request, while making packing for the various grade level of my students… I have printed out the coloring name pages can you insert also the months, of the year, and the days of the week worksheets for me. Whom ever the developers for this sight are I salute them from one educator to another. The information is attractive, filled with learning, writing, practice writing, motor skill development (fine, large) coloring, reading, vocabulary and spelling. This sight is a God sent! It is not shallow like so many other sights listed on the web. I am a special education teacher and am ALWAYS surfing the web for interesting, through, in depth, learning sights for my students various domains of learning. I would like to first start off by saying, ‘THIS IS A FANTASTIC SITE”. Our worksheets assist a child in learning to quickly recognize these sight words. Some of these words cannot be “sounded out” using phonetic principles. These are words that are so common that children should learn to quickly recognize them by sight, rather than ‘sounding them out’. Sight words can be tricky for a child who is learning to read. Whereas, Fry categorized his words based on frequency, e.g. Dolch categorized his words based on grades: pre-primer (PP), primer, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. In addition, we created worksheets that contain several of Dolch’s preprimer and primer sight words.Īs noted above we indicated if the sight word was included on either Dolch or Fry’s sight word lists. These worksheets focus on more than one word. Today is all about these sight words, maybe next we will make a math bingo board?Based on our kindergarten and first grade reading curriculums, we created additional sight word worksheets. The size is perfect for the game boards and the learning doesn’t need to stop to grab a snack. ![]() How does this tie into snack time? Well the best game pieces are Goldfish Pretzels (or other Goldfish crackers). ![]() Each time we play, we can really switch it up and make it different so they don’t lose interest too fast. A few times I let Ethan call out the words for his brothers. Everyone sounds it out and then searches for words on their board. Sometimes Chase will look at the card closely and ask Ethan for help. If someone is stumped, I will show them the word card so they can see the letters and how it is spelled. All the boards have the same 25 sight words on them so we can either play until someone has a line or go through all of them and let the kids cover their whole board. Ethan can practice the words he knows and Chase can continue to learn them. I came up with these bingo boards to put a little fun into sight words. Sometimes he sees a word somewhere and he gets so excited and says, “That’s a sight word, Mom!” He reads to his brothers daily and tries teaching them little words as he goes. Kindergarten really gave Ethan the passion to read. Sometimes we have games that are just for snack time. Most days we keep going through snack time and try to tie our snack food into what we are doing. They aren’t necessarily ready to pause their activities though. Our schedule is always set and my kids are so into a routine that at the same time every day, they are ready for a little snack. Each day is filled with learning, fun, laughs, and of course food and snacks. I just have to make sure I have our day planned out each morning and we get off to a great start. If we aren’t doing something every minute, he is asking for one thing or another. After a year in kindergarten, Ethan is eager to stay busy and can’t seem to handle any downtime. ![]() We are trying to fit in everything from our summer bucket list, get outside as much as possible, and continue to learn while school is out. This summer already feels like it is flying by too quickly. If you are trying to access it with a school account, the school may block you from downloading it. *Please note: This download is on Google Drive. (5 different Bingo boards and word cards) Since the boys are pretty close in age, it makes it easier sometimes because they can all work on the same thing, and often my oldest can teach his brothers a thing or two. As much as I try to enforce learning, they are one step ahead and are eager to learn new things and practice what they do know. I’m sharing sight words Bingo activity with Goldfish® Pretzel as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #GoldfishTalesĮducational activities each day is important for the kids and me.
